DMS Revision Control

Not all documents undergo a revision process but many do, ranging from customer proposals to engineering drawings.

It is vital to keep control of the document life cycle and ensure that everyone, both inside and outside of the organisation, is working to the same revision.

Aprotec DMS provides strict control of the revision cycle with specific revision schemes applied to documents. When a document is approved for issue it is locked by the system preventing any further modification.

This process will also electronically “sign off” the document, which, depending on the security settings may make that document instantly visible to other uses. This electronic sign off can drastically shorten project lead times by making approved documents available instantly to their intended readers and by reducing the cost of producing hard copies that are traditionally printed and issued manually.
